Outdoor specimens can reach 5 to 6 feet in warm, Mediterranean-style climates. Early topping and low-stress training are strongly recommended to manage the canopy and maximize light penetration to lower bud sites; growers should also plan for trellising, as colas can become heavy and require support near harvest.
